This couple was on fire. 🔥 Together, they were MAGNETIC! So much so that their love story was featured in Hudson Valley Magazine!
On a gorgeous September day, Emily and Daniel exchanged vows in the gardens under our tree. The hints of changing color in the trees perfectly complicated their rustic fall wedding vibe. After their ceremony and gorgeous sunset wedding portraits, the couple led their guests into Round Hill, with custom touches added to every corner. Their signature drinks included The Penny, with iced tea and lemonade, and The Caesar, a blackberry mojito. Guests also enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres as well as two of our specialty stations, our Tuscan Pizza Station and our Comfort Station.
Instead of a traditional wedding cake, they chose a gourmet cupcake tower complete with flavors like raspberry funfetti, espresso chocolate, and cream cheese carrot, perfect for the fall season. They sipped champagne from their favorite mugs—with graphics of the grim reaper and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. In addition to mini chocolate box favors, guests could leave with photos from Hudson Valley Trailer Co, featuring a retro, walk-in Photo Booth Trailer that came with props, backdrops, customized templates and more! On a fateful day in December 2013, Emily posted one of her drawings on Instagram using the hashtag #drawingoftheday. Little did she know that Daniel, her now-husband, was scrolling though photos of the tag that very moment. After clicking on her picture, he messaged her and found out they were living only a state away (Daniel was in New Jersey while Emily was in New York).
A Skype call later to confirm they were both very real and not catfishing, the pair made plans to go on a date. And another. And another.
On the day Daniel proposed, he and Emily were at a family photo shoot.
“While pictures were being taken, his niece brought over a box to me that had a frame of pictures with me and his niece and nephew with a note attached that said, ‘We love you as our Emmy ([his] niece’s and nephew’s nickname for me), now will you be our aunt?’” Emily recalls. Having watched the children grow up over the course of her relationship with Daniel, she happily accepted the heartfelt proposal.
“I cannot put into words how incredible FEAST is. As soon as we stepped onto this beautiful property, we instantly knew that this is where we were going to get married. When we were searching for the right place, we noticed that mostly every venue was practically the same, a wedding factory that pumped out four weddings a night with no personal connection between the couple and the staff. Unlike them, FEAST is quite the opposite of that. They only hold one wedding per day, which means you get their full attention which is so important on your wedding day to assure nothing will go wrong. The food was so amazing at the tasting we went to, that we booked the very next week. When we booked for September, it was winter and the gardens weren’t in bloom so we were unable to see what the property looked like, but we didn’t care, the pictures did it justice and the venue alone was everything we had wanted. The venue is unique, it isn’t your typical wedding venue with the dance floor in the middle and the uplighting all around it. It is elegant, vintage, clean and breath taking with each room you encounter. With the venue being as astonishing as it is, the gardens that are on the property are just completely unreal. The walkway brings you through fountains, trees and a huge array of colorful flowers that will make your photographs look like you’re in another world. If you plan to have your ceremony there, the tree in the ceremony area is just as beautiful as the gardens. On our wedding day, we were assigned to Ellen who was our Maitre D, Ellen made sure everything went smoothly and stress-free for us. She went above and beyond for us and we truly cannot thank her enough. As someone is question crazy, I called FEAST maybe three or more times a week with questions that probably didn’t make sense and were probably crazy, but Kim, Shelley and Peter were so patient and kind and took every question and made sure I felt as I got the answer I needed. We felt so taken care of at FEAST, we felt a connection to the staff and appreciate every single person that made our wedding day perfect. If you book with FEAST, you are in great hands and your wedding will be just as perfect as any others that take place there.”
