Their Story

Alison and Melissa met on February 15, 2014 in Penn Station. After establishing that Ali likes to eat more than salad, Melissa took her to Umami burger (one of the best burger joints in town). They talked, they joked, even though Ali was more interested in the lacrosse game behind their table they still hit it off. As they took a cab over to Stonewall Bar, Melissa realized she lost all her money. They went back to the restaurant (never found the money) and ended their night playing pool and enjoying a couple of beers.

It had been four years since that day, and a lot of laughter, tears and stress with Melissa finishing up PT school and Ali moving to the boondocks in Suffern. It was then in October 2017 that Melissa proposed to Alison at the Walkway Over The Hudson in a clear, dark night. Melissa was so nervous, and barely got any words out, and Ali of course, just had to ask “what are you doing?” She eventually said yes, and so begins the adventures of A and M.

The Big Day

Alison and Melissa had their fall Hudson Valley wedding on a beautiful day in September. The two lovely brides chose Round Hill, a historic mansion, to host their wedding and were married in the gardens in front of a large tree just beginning to change color. 12 Bridesmaids and 2 Bridesmen wore light blues and reds, each with alternating bouquets.

After their stunning sunset portraits, guests made their way to cocktail hour, enjoying hors d’Oeuvres and several specialty stations, featuring Tuscan themed foods, pasta assortments, and our famous “You Don’t Have to be Jewish” station. Dinner included a selection of Braised Boneless Short Ribs, Chicken with Wild Mushrooms and Seared Filet of Salmon, ending with a gelato bar straight from the streets of Rome and Florence, espresso, cordials and a 5 tier wedding cake from The Pastry Garden decorated in graphics from The Avengers and Harry Potter.

From the Couple

“Oh my goodness where to start?! My wedding was in September. From the day Ali and I went to a tasting to the day of our wedding FEAST was there to answer all of our questions and make our dream day a reality. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is so friendly and efficient you will feel like you know them for years! Ellen, our Maitre D, has a lot of experience with wedding schedules and it showed! Everything was so fluid and efficient from the moment my wife arrived and later in the day when my bridal party and I got to the wedding venue. The party was a huge success, the food was delicious, and our families can not stop talking about it! Ali and my wedding day is a day we won’t ever forget and it was partially due to the amazing venue we decided on 18 months prior to our big day!”
